The troubling unknown, he said, is whether the extremists -- whom he termed "zealots and despots" bent on destroying the global system of nation-states -- are turning out newly trained terrorists faster than the United States can capture or kill them."It's quite clear to me that we do not have a coherent approach to this," Rumsfeld said at an international security conference....

Royal Funeral For Pickled Heart
[Paris, France] Louis XVII's short life was the stuff of nightmares. He lost his parents to the guillotine. He was locked in Paris' Temple prison for three years -- for part of that time, in solitary confinement in a darkened cell, without anyone to wash him or clean up after him, said historian Philippe Delorme.
The boy finally died of tuberculosis in 1795, his body reportedly ravaged by tumors and scabies.
The child's corpse was dumped in a common grave -- but first, a doctor secretly carved out his heart in keeping with a tradition of preserving royal hearts separate from their bodies.
...when scientists at two European universities compared DNA from the heart of the dead boy to DNA from hair trimmed from Marie-Antoinette during her childhood in Austria, the link was confirmed.

Chalabi Reportedly Told Iran That U.S. Had Code
American officials said that about six weeks ago, Mr. Chalabi told the Baghdad station chief of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security that the United States was reading the communications traffic of the Iranian spy service, one of the most sophisticated in the Middle East.According to American officials, the Iranian official in Baghdad, possibly not believing Mr. Chalabi's account, sent a cable to Tehran detailing his conversation with Mr. Chalabi, using the broken code. That encrypted cable, intercepted and read by the United States, tipped off American officials to the fact that Mr. Chalabi had betrayed the code-breaking operation, the American officials said.
American officials reported that in the cable to Tehran, the Iranian official recounted how Mr. Chalabi had said that one of "them" -- a reference to an American -- had revealed the code-breaking operation, the officials said. The Iranian reported that Mr. Chalabi said the American had been drunk.
| Of course what we lose from Ahmad Chalabi tipping off Iran to US surveillance, we gain back by taking away his privilege to send Publisher's Clearinghouse applications -- stating "If you can read this you may already be an Iranian" -- from the White House mailroom. |
Nothing against Angelina Jolie, but they have a lot of nerve putting her at the top of a list for natural beauty when there's no way her boobs are real. There's also no way you can convince me Halle Berry's (8) are real, and Marilyn Monroe's nose job is a matter of biographical record.
